FBR48 today
FABRIKA48 on 3 floors connects several functions. On the first and second floors there is a showroom of interior and exterior furniture and accessories, a sales gallery of paintings, which completes and aestheticizes the individual furniture installations. In the peripheral parts of the building there are spaces for short or long-term rentals. Event halls on the ground floor offer opportunities for corporate and private event organisers. On the top floor there is a spacious coworking space and two meeting rooms. It is because of the wide possibilities of using our premises that we are gradually becoming the first choice for event agencies and multinational companies.
History
In 1887, the story of the Franck coffee factory began in Košice. The sons of the original owners continued the story and built the successful Franck coffee brand that still exists today. After the end of the production of coffee products in Košice, a bakery and a company shop were set up in the warehouse premises. By sensitively renovating the building, we were able to create new offices and business premises in a unique industrial style under the name FABRIKA48. The genius loci of this building represents what today’s modern architecture can no longer achieve.

Reconstruction
FABRIKA48 is deeply connected to its past and the original use of the building. The spirit of the FABRIKA48 site will forever be linked to the Franck coffee factory, whose story began to be written in 1887. At that time, the original, two-storey building housed warehouse facilities that required specific conditions. In order to prevent the quality of the coffee beans from being compromised by the external environment, the building could not have large windows. The windows that now illuminate the entire interior are therefore new and were installed during the renovation. During the renovation, we used the latest technologies that are currently used in the construction of new low-energy and intelligent buildings. Underfloor heating, building cooling, heat pumps, air recuperation, smart wiring and water treatment are the most significant technologies we implemented during the renovation of the over 100 year old building. We can responsibly say that the building deceives with the body. Even buildings that were constructed in the current century can envy the building’s technological background. Awards
In 2021, FABRIKA48 won the CIJ Awards as BEST-CO-SOCIAL-WORKING COMMUNITY.
In 2022, FABRIKA48 won the prestigious Hall of Fame (HOF Awards) Best of Best award for a coworking project.
